Is the Stop Loss already submitted with the opening order?
In OptionsApp, the Stop Loss is only set after the trade has been executed. This is because the execution price is not known before the trade opens. Another reason relates to Interactive Brokers, as it's not possible to place a buy and sell order on the same contract simultaneously. This situation could occur with a predefined stop that's included at entry, which could lead to the order being rejected. To ensure the Stop Order is attached as quickly as possible, it's placed immediately after execution based on the last price. A few milliseconds later, once the execution report from IB is available, the Stop Order is adjusted to the correct execution price. Should any disruptions occur during this process, such as a connection loss, as soon as the connection is restored, the Stop is checked immediately and reattached if necessary. OptionsApp continuously monitors all orders and corrects any issues right away if something wasn't placed.
