Quantity Scale Factor
1. Overview
The Quantity Scale Factor allows you to centrally scale all Trades within a Strategy.
Instead of manually adjusting the Quantity for each individual Trade, you can proportionally increase or decrease the entire Strategy through a common Factor.
This feature is particularly useful for Multi-Entry strategies where multiple Trades are configured within a Strategy.
2. Position in the User Interface
The Quantity Scale Factor is located in the upper area of a Strategy in the Strategy section.
- Activation via the Quantity Scale Factor checkbox
- Input of a numeric Factor (e.g. 2, 3, 5, etc.)
- The Factor takes effect immediately on all Trades contained in the Strategy
3. How It Works
When the Quantity Scale Factor is activated, it acts as a multiplier for the Quantity defined in each individual Trade.
Formula:
Effective Quantity = Defined Quantity × Quantity Scale Factor
4. Practical Example
In the following example, the Quantity Scale Factor = 3 is set.
The Strategy contains 4 Trades with the following original Quantities:
- Trade 1: Quantity = 1
- Trade 2: Quantity = 2
- Trade 3: Quantity = 2
- Trade 4: Quantity = 1
With the Scale Factor set to 3, the following effective execution results:
- Trade 1: 1 × 3 = 3 Contracts
- Trade 2: 2 × 3 = 6 Contracts
- Trade 3: 2 × 3 = 6 Contracts
- Trade 4: 1 × 3 = 3 Contracts
All Trades in the Strategy are thus automatically scaled by Factor 3.
5. Special Features
- Scaling applies exclusively to Quantity.
- Entry and Exit Conditions remain unchanged.
- Max-Exec values are not modified; instead, the Contract count per execution is multiplied.
- Changes to the Scale Factor apply to the entire Strategy.
